Since I was a child I have been interested in art, drawing, and painting. I have viewed everything as a potential scene just waiting to be transformed into a colorful painting. I have always had a insatiable desire to make everything beautiful. Fortunately, I have a strong sense of color too!
I like to incorporate vibrant color combinations in my paintings; similar to the way I would select colors for an interior design project. I am especially drawn to paint landscapes with a glimpse of architecture in view and street scenes with people going about their daily business. Some of my personal favorites are my portraits of cooks, waiters, and dancers! Earlier in my painting career I painted with watercolors and then I slowly migrated towards oil painting. I have always enjoyed painting on location and I feel that it is the best way to observe the color and light of the scene. Throughout my career as an artist I have traveled extensively and attended various painting workshops. I am constantly growing and learning as an artist. I realize that through art, people of all nationalities can communicate on the same level. Art speaks to people in ways that they cannot seem to do directly. I have been traveling, drawing, and painting all of my life. My family moved a number of times as I was growing up and it gave me the opportunity to see many picturesque areas of the United States. After college, marriage, and raising two daughters I practiced as an interior designer in Chicago, Illinois, and then in Houston,Texas. I am now living my dream as a full time artist.
