Becoming one's own artist is the ongoing challenge of every painter.  Whether I am working on a pet portrait, a landscape, or a still life, I am always striving to communicate an inner emotion. 

I want my audience to relate to each work as it speaks out to them.  There should always be a strong connection linking the artist, the painting, and the onlooker.
